Established in 1928 as the Atlantic View Hotel, it was the first inn to be built on Hatteras Island. Earning a well-deserved position on the National Register of Historic Places, the inn had provided lodgings for fishing tourists, duck hunters and seekers of a peaceful getaway until 2003, when Hurricane Isabel devastated Hatteras. In 2006, the inn was raised and re-opened as "The Seaside Inn" operating under several managers until the end of 2019. We bought the rather run-down century-old hotel in 2020, spent the next year completely renovating and restoring it,  before opening in April 2021 as "The Atlantic Inn".

As the owners of the inn, we have committed to living and working all year round on Hatteras Island, so you can escape to our tranquil, coastal retreat and enjoy the natural beauty of Hatteras, at any time of the year. We'd love to welcome you to The Atlantic.
